STUDENTS TALK BACK:

Share

The Glendale News-Press recently went to Glendale Career College and asked surgical technician students who will begin internships with local hospitals, “Are you nervous about going into a real operating room?”

“No. I would say that I am well prepared, because we’ve logistically practiced what we have to do.”

ART BUSCH, 54

Acton

“Yes, I’m nervous and excited. It’s mixed emotions. No more books, no more fake people.”

ANA ALCALA, 25

Glendale

“I’m a little bit nervous. We’ve been on field trips to see real-life surgeries. It’s not as bad as it seems.”

GLADYS FLORES, 24

East L.A.

“I’m more excited. I’m ready to go because they’ve prepared us. We had everything in our classroom.”

FRANCES GONZALEZ, 20

“The first day of my internship I was nervous. You’re scared to make mistakes.”

ARBI BAGHALIAN, 29
