Blaze damages apartment unit

Arson investigators were still looking Monday into the cause of a fire that caused $125,000 in damages to an apartment unit in a single-story duplex, officials said.

The fire was discovered at 9:55 p.m. Saturday in an apartment in the rear of the duplex at 500 E. Windsor St., Glendale Fire Capt. Tom Propst said.

No occupants were inside the apartment and no one was injured during the fire, he said.

Thirty-six Glendale Fire Department firefighters battled the blaze and contained the fire from spreading to another unit, Propst said.

Damage to the apartment was estimated at $100,000 and damage to the apartment’s contents was $25,000, he said.
