The Glendale Council PTA annual Founder’s Day Dinner is set for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26 in the Glendale High School cafeteria. The theme of this year’s event is to celebrate the people who have made a “World of Difference” in our schools and community.

Council PTA President Lynn Miyamoto-Kroeker is looking forward to hosting this very special event. Dinner will be catered by the Glendale High Bistro at a cost of $20 per person. There will be presentations of Honorary Service Awards to people who have made a difference in the lives of the children in our community.

LA CRESCENTA ELEMENTARY

The Founder’s Day dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 11 in the cafetorium. There is a western theme, so put on your cowboy boots and come on down for a rip-roarin’ good time in the school cafeteria. The event is free, and baby-sitting is provided.

DUNSMORE ELEMENTARY

An International Festival is in store for Founder’s Day, which begins at 6 p.m. Feb. 27 in the auditorium. Korean barbecue as well as desserts from around the world are on the menu. Don’t miss it.

All issues of the Hilltop Echoes newsletter and Weekly Bulletin are now available online. The office will have a few hard copies available of the Echoes newsletter or Weekly Bulletin. Thanks for helping us go green in 2009!

MONTE VISTA ELEMENTARY

The Founder’s Day Dinner is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12 in the cafeteria. Honorary Service Awards will be presented at that time, and dinner will be catered by Burger Continental for $15 per person. To purchase tickets or for more information, stop by the school office.

FREMONT ELEMENTARY

Fabulous Fremont dad Rob Musso has generously donated his time and energy to install the first commemorative tile wall, in the area around the upper-field play structure. All current and past Fremont students, families and friends are invited to another tile-making event Feb. 24 in the auditorium. More details will be available in an upcoming Thursday folder.

Liz Schetina has organized an assembly for students Feb. 13 titled “All That Trash” presented by the same duo who performed “H2O, Where Did You Go” last year. Students will learn a fun lesson about reducing, reusing and recycling.

Betsy Wilbur and her committee are planning the Founder’s Day Dessert and annual meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 18 in the auditorium. Join the fun at the 84th annual Founder’s Day event as Fremont goes to Mardi Gras! It promises to be a fun-filled evening with food, entertainment and Honorary Service Award presentations to members of the community who have gone above and beyond for our children.

Free child care will be provided for school-age children.

ROSEMONT MIDDLE

PTA will celebrate Founder’s Day at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 18 in the school auditorium. Rosemont’s Jazz Band will perform, and community members will be honored during PTA’s Honorary Service Award presentations.

Also, the PTA will have a Donation Drive between March 2 and 13. Community members are encouraged to donate (forms are available at www.rosemontweb.org). Proceeds will go toward purchasing books for the school library and additional software for the computer lab.

CRESCENTA VALLEY HIGH

The Founder’s Day Dinner will be Feb. 25 in the cafeteria.

There will be performances by the jazz band and drama department, along with presentations from some Reflections contest participants.

The evening will culminate with the presentation of Honorary Service Awards to deserving community leaders.
