First Baptist Church, La Crescenta presents a men’s breakfast the third Saturday (the next is Feb. 21) each month at 7:30 a.m. Enjoy a great breakfast and devotion. The cost for breakfast is $5. After breakfast there will be an opportunity to do odd jobs around the houses of those who need it.

La Crescenta Presbyterian Church

 Church choir at cathedral Feb. 15

Look for the La Crescenta Presbyterian Church Cathedral Choir on Feb. 15 at the fifth annual Mark Thallander Foundation Southern California Festival “Sing and Rejoice.”

The festival will take place at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles and will begin at 7 p.m.

Don’t miss the 1,000-voice choir and 100-piece orchestra.

All are welcome, and admission is free. Early arrival is suggested.

Dr. Lloyd Ogilvie to speak at services

Dr. Lloyd Ogilvie, a nationally known pastor and author, will be delivering the sermon during the 9 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday services on March 15.

Ogilvie served as the 61st chaplain to the United States Senate from 1995 to 2003. He was founder and host of the nationally syndicated television and radio ministry “Let God Love You” that aired for over a decade. He is the author of 54 books and served as the senior pastor at Hollywood Presbyterian Church from 1972 to 1995.

Ogilvie has received numerous honors including over 15 honorary doctorate degrees from universities around the nation such as Pepperdine University and Azusa Pacific University.

 Candlelight prayer service offered

La Crescenta Presbyterian offers a candlelight prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Fridays.

All are welcome to this brief prayer service.

 Christianity 101, 201 classes offered

La Crescenta Presbyterian Church is offering two Wednesday night classes from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The first class, Christianity 101: What Christians Believe, will serve as a starting point for new Christians and people who are exploring the Christian faith. The class is open to everyone and will be led by Lee Cook in Koopmans Hall.

The second class, Christianity 201, will be for those Christians who want to explore a deeper relationship with Christ and grapple with spiritual issues in a safe, welcoming environment.

This class will be led by Pastor Andy Wilson in the sanctuary. Child care and children’s activity groups are available for ages 6 months to 14 years old.

 Sunday morning classes offered

La Crescenta Presbyterian Church offers a Sunday morning class, “Chapel Fellowship,” from 10:45 a.m. to noon. The class focuses on Bible study, prayer and fellowship and will be anchored by church elders George Buehler and Doug Given. The class will feature guest speakers for two- to four-week studies.

  Church offers Olsen scholarship

In loving memory of John Olsen and administered through La Crescenta Presbyterian Church, a scholarship fund has been established for the purpose of assisting anyone under the age of 18 in attending softball or baseball clinics and to cover entry fees for participants in marathon events.

Chabad of Glendale, Foothills

Mommy & Me program offered

Chabad of Glendale and the Foothill Communities offers a Mommy & Me program at the chabad at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays.

Meet and spend time with other moms living in the area while the little ones enjoy new friendships and quality playtime.

Children are introduced to basic Jewish values and traditions. These are integrated through art, music and movement in a warm, creative atmosphere.

The program is offered for children as young as 6 months.
