Zarian to focus on nonprofit

Rio Ray, captain of the Salvation Army Glendale Corps, is scheduled to appear live Thursday on “The Larry Zarian Show” to discuss the effects of the recession on his organization’s services.

The army’s board chairwoman, Cathy Zappala, will also appear on the show to talk about how the economic downturn has affected the nonprofit’s ability to provide help amid an increase in demand for services that has hit all social service providers.

Nonprofits throughout Glendale have reported increased demand from low-income residents for services.
