PTA News: Wishing luck to the Hoover High graduates
Congratulations to the 2010 Hoover graduating class! We are very proud of your accomplishments and wish you much success and happiness.
Congratulations also to those recognized at Hoover Awards Night. Many honors were bestowed on Hoover students, including $6,000 in PTSA scholarships to deserving seniors. Scholarship funds were raised by the Hoover PTSA’s Tour of Homes and football concessions.
At the last meeting this year, the Hoover PTSA installed new officers for 2010-11. Next year’s officers are: Annie Alwin, Vic Bedrossian, Becky York, Keith Sorem, Dorene Bennett, Pam Sorem, Lisa Deyell, Sandy Bovberg, Tam Le, Vilma Bedrossian, Addora Beall and Chris Walters.
Congratulations to our most recent Honorary Service Award recipients — Kevin Welsh and Kathy Frazer. Both received the esteemed Golden Oak award. Sylmara Multini was also awarded an Honorary Service award.

Toll Middle School
Toll’s eighth grade promotion ceremony will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Hoover High School Athletic Field.
Congratulations to Bill Hall, Keith Sorem, Irene Roach, Judith Bakly, Fred Hadjuk and Edgar Melik-Stepanyan for being presented with PTSA Honorary Service Awards for their dedication to helping our Toll students.
Congratulations also to Jerry Cortez, a remarkable Toll eighth-grader, for his outstanding performance in the Scripts National Spelling Bee.

Balboa Elementary
Congratulations to the students of the Balboa Music Program who held their spring concert on June 7. Thank you to their teacher, Greg Boyadjian, for his excellent instruction. The Tunesmiths Concert was held on May 27. The PTA thanks Jeannie Smith for her hard work and dedication to the choir program.
