Sonja Yates, executive director for the San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity, is scheduled to appear live Thursday on “The Larry Zarian Show” to discuss how the economy is factoring into the nonprofit’s plans.

The national organization ranked in the top 10 of U.S. homebuilders for the first time this month, buoyed by other builders who pulled back because of the recession. Meanwhile, the nonprofit has continued to build homes for needy families.

The nonprofit recently completed a project on Kenwood, the sixth in Glendale, with plans for another on Geneva Street in central Glendale.

Elaine Wilkerson, the city’s former planning director, will also join Yates to discuss the nonprofit’s presence in Glendale and its plans.

The show airs on Charter Cable Channel 380 at 7 p.m.
