Man is tricked, burglarized

GLENDALE— A 23-year-old homeless woman pleaded not guilty Thursday to luring a south Glendale man away from his home while two accomplices allegedly stole credit cards, cash and other items, officials said.

Anastasia Kisling — who allegedly lured the man away from his home — and Kurt Stanzer, 26, were each arraigned in Los Angeles County Superior Court on a first-degree residential burglary charge, prosecutors said. Kaitlyn Smith, 20, is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 30 on the same charge.

Glendale police detectives are investigating whether the trio was responsible for other residential burglaries, Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

The group was arrested Tuesday after Chris Bosley, 58, reported that his Cypress Street apartment had been burglarized July 5 after Kisling lured him away, according to a Glendale police report.

Kisling allegedly got him to leave under the guise of going on a date, Lorenz said.

Bosley, who had helped Kisling through his work, got a call from her, saying she wanted go out for dinner and movie and offered to pay, according to police reports. Bosley never dated Kisling, so he thought the offer was unusual, according to the report.

She allegedly requested his address and ZIP Code to look it up on a navigation system before picking Bosley up about 5 p.m. But when they arrived at the Americana at Brand, Bosley said she no longer wanted to watch a movie, preferring instead to walk around and grab a meal, according to the report.

She spent most of her time sending text messages, Bosley told police.

He returned about 7 p.m. to discover a camera, 40 DVDs, $800 in cash, credit cards and keys missing. The thieves apparently entered through an open bedroom window.

Police used cell-phone records to find several text messages she allegedly sent while on the date to “Kitty” and “Casper,” asking if they were inside Bosley’s home.

Messages describing Bosley’s home and valuables were also sent from her home, according to the police report.

“I feel violated because I had helped this person, and they did that to me,” Bosley said.
