Emergency data backup

The City Council approved an agreement with Burbank to share floor space for the installation of backup storage and Internet servers.

Under the agreement, Glendale will pay Burbank for upgrades to the Burbank Data Center in order to make the sharing possible. Burbank will pay for electricity used by Glendale hardware at the site.

WHAT IT MEANS

The installation will allow Glendale to back up critical systems so that they can be restored in case of emergency, and is less expensive than using a different offsite location.
