Mailbag: Wondering about Ramani’s residence

Share

I read with interest that Sunder Ramani is again trying to win the 43rd District Assembly seat (“Ramani confirms Assembly run,” Aug. 10).

Perhaps I am the only one who remembers that this very newspaper reported, at the outset of his first campaign (“Republican eligible for seat”, Feb. 9) that Ramani had to relocate into this district to run because his longtime residence was in La Cañada Flintridge.

That is the exact type of brazen duplicity that is getting Los Angeles City Councilman Richard Alarcon in trouble. Perhaps the reason why Ramani has thus far been unable to win the 43rd Assembly District is that he doesn’t really live in the district.

Sure wish I could pick my own windows

Anyone interested in a story on Glendale’s abuse of power?

I’ve been trying to change the windows in my home to more energy-efficient windows, and a Glendale Design Review Board refuses to OK six specific windows. The remaining 15 windows were approved, but one inspector, in his subjective opinion, didn’t feel the windows my wife and I chose were “appropriate” for our home.

Unbelievable! One person at City Hall can refuse to allow a homeowner to modernize their home and make it more energy-efficient?
