PTA News: Time to gear up for school

Share

As the summer winds down, everyone is busily gearing up for the new school year. PTA members are meeting to plan events, students and parents are attending orientation sessions, lots of money is being spent on new clothing and school supplies, and excitement is in the air as we anticipate the adventures that await us.

Elementary school offices are now open. Each site has its own set of guidelines for finding out class assignments, picking up schedules and welcoming new families. If your child’s school is not represented in this week’s column or if you are unsure of the details, now is the time to contact the office. The first day of school is Aug. 30, and I wish everyone a great year.

Here is some information from a few of our cluster schools. I rely on individuals at each site to provide this information, and if your school is not listed below, let your PTA president know to contact me at jostupakis@yahoo.com and I will be happy to include your events.

This is a special event for students to meet their teacher, see the classroom and learn about Valley View.
