Elizabeth (Betty) Anne Callaway Humphries

Elizabeth (Betty) Anne Callaway Humphries, 76, was taken home to be with the Lord on Sept. 25, 2010. She was born on August 18, 1934, in Orange, CA. and grew up in Burbank, graduating from John Burroughs High School in 1953. Affectionately known as “Betty,” she and her daughter Sharon were active members of Calvary Baptist Church,Trinity Baptist Church in Burbank and The Church On The Way in Van Nuys.

She retired from Blue Cross /Blue Shield after 40+ years of service. After retiring, she moved to Barstow to be near her nieces and nephews whom she always considered her “other children,” and remained active in the church and at the Hinkley Senior Citizens organization. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Lee Humphries, a nd her parents, Audrey and Ken Callaway,and her nephew George (Georgie) Kenneth Callaway III. She is survived by her brother George (and Jan) Callaway >of El Mirage, CA., her sister-in-law Bonnie Ingra of Apple Valley, and her “other children,” Katherine Callaway Hall (and Jim) of Las Vegas, NV., Daryl (and Debbie) Callaway of Apple Valley, CA, Teresa (and Steve) McMahon of High Point, NC, Cheryl (and Scott) Riley of Glendora, CA., and Jamie (and Barney) Cordova of Apple Valley, CA., and many grand nephews and nieces.

Betty was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and last but certainly not least,a very beloved Aunt. Her generosity, kindness and thoughtfulness was her calling card, and she will surely be rewarded in Heaven.

Rest in Peace Aunt Betty. We love you and will miss you.Services and burial will be Wed. Sept. 29, 9:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetary in Hollywood Hills.
