Patience “Pat” Pietsch

Patience “Pat” Pietsch was born on April 22, 1917 and passed away Oct 7, at the age of ninety three.

She was born in Ryder, North Dakota- the daughter of Mary and William Carter. She was one of seven children, with four brothers and two sisters.

The family moved to Michigan where Pat met her future husband, Frank Pietsch. They were married on Feb 7, 1942 in Missouri. The couple moved to Montrose, California where Pat found a job in a dress shop. She became an avid sewer and seamstress.

During the later 40’s and early 50’s Pat worked as a comptometer operator at Thomas Cadillac in Los Angeles while her husband pursued a chemistry degree at UCLA. Shortly thereafter, they purchased their first home in La Crescenta. In 1954, Patience and Frank were blessed with the birth of their only child Jim (James Charles Pietsch). In 1959, Pietsch family had a new house built in Whiting Woods where she was to spend the next fifty years of her life.

Beloved Patience Pietsch is survived by her son Jim, three grandchildren, Daniel, Lauren, and Courtney, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The world just lost a lot of light, although Heaven got a little brighter. She will be missed, but remembered for the amazing woman she was, as well as the happiness she brought to everyone who has ever known her.

Services will be held Saturday, October 16, 2010, 11:00 a.m., at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.
