Schools will celebrate Red Ribbon Week

The 18th annual College Career Fair will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Glendale Civic Auditorium, 1401 N. Verdugo Road. Admission and parking are free. There are 110 colleges and 25 career information tables on the roster. This is a great place for students and parents to obtain information and talk to representatives about college choices. A seminar at 6:30 p.m. will guide parents through the financial aid process.

Lincoln Elementary

The annual Halloween parade will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday on the playground.

The Book Fair and Food Drive will run Nov. 2 to 5.

The Mother-Son Olympiad begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 in the auditorium.

La Crescenta Elementary

PTA encourages students to make healthy choices during Red Ribbon Week continuing today through Friday. There will be red ribbons around campus and a special assembly on Thursday.

The Sees Candy sale begins Nov. 4 to help raise money to purchase additional computers for the computer lab due to the increase in class sizes.

PTA and Foundation meet at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in the cafeteria.

The first Literacy Luau is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 12 in the cafeteria. Families are invited to come and enjoy a tropical evening focused on the joy of reading.

Valley View Elementary

Students and families can spend a fun-filled day at the Harvest Carnival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, on the lower playground. The Korean Parent Club will be serving barbequed items and there will be Mexican cuisine for sale.

The PTA meets at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 4 in the auditorium.

Students can create special holiday gifts at the workshop after school Nov. 5 in the auditorium.

Mountain Avenue Elementary

The PTA invites all ghosts and goblins to its annual Halloween Carnival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on the play yard. Game booths, a cakewalk, craft stations and a Korean barbecued lunch await all who dare enter. Tickets are available at the door.

The PTA meeting at 6:30 Nov. 4 in the auditorium. and features the Reflections Awards Ceremony.

Dunsmore Elementary

Hilltoppers recognize the importance of drug awareness by participating in Red Ribbon Week today through Friday. Red wristlets will be distributed to students and the week ends with the annual Halloween Parade at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

The third annual Jog-a-Thon is scheduled for Nov. 3 on the lower playground.

Crescenta Valley High

Does your family portrait need updating? Come to the Instrumental Music Program’s Family Portrait Event from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday.
