A wind advisory for the foothill region has been extended until 9 p.m. today, with gusts of up to 45 mph expected through the night.

Winds will be strongest in the western foothills, but northerly winds could still reach 25 mph in the area’s canyons and basins, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures today will remain in the upper-70s, and are forecast to climb into the 80s on Wednesday under similar conditions. Winds are expected to ebb slightly on Wednesday as well, but local gusts could still reach 35 mph, according to the weather agency.

There’s a 30% chance of rain in the forecast for Friday, but the mostly cloudy skies are expected to break up for Saturday and then be mostly clear for Halloween.
