Daniel Ledden O’Brien of Kuna, Idaho passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife by his side on Saturday October 16th, 2010. A Memorial Service will be held at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise, Idaho on October 28, 2010, at 7:00 p.m.

Daniel was born June 27, 1937 in Oakland, California to Daniel and Cora Alice O’Brien the 2nd of two children. Daniel attended Oakland High School, Oakland CA and University High School in West L.A., CA. Upon completion of high school Dan received a scholarship to UCLA to play football. During that summer he broke his neck (body surfing). Dan had to undergo several surgeries in order to be able to walk again. Dan slowly recovered from his injury but he was not able to play football at UCLA. Dan attended college at Santa Monica City College and worked as an apprentice installing floors. Dan owned La Canada Floor Covering in La Canada-Flintridge , CA. He worked over 50 years in the flooring industry and loved every minute of it.

He moved to Kuna, Idaho in 2005 because he loved the outdoors, motorcycles, and jet skiing.

He is survived by his wife Diane, 3 children from a previous marriage, Laura, Daniel and Melinda O’Brien of CA. and his niece Melissa Obrecht of Colorado.
