Corinne Davidson Ellis

The eldest of 5 children, Corinne Davidson Ellis was born on 8-11-16.

Grew up in San Pedro, she met and married her college professor in 1939, Charles

Ellis. Corinne began teaching in La Canada in 1952. She and her husband moved to La Canada and raised 4 boys Charles and Rebecca, Heber, Utah; David (deceased) and Kris, Phoenix, Arizona; Bruce and Donna, Altadena, Calif.; and Wayne and Laura, Glendora, Calif. Corinne taught for over 40 years at La Canada Elementary. During this time she was instrumental in developing the math curriculum for advanced students, an innovative California History unit, and the program which originally took her students to “Freedoms Foundation Program at Valley Forge.”

Which has now expanded throughout the whole district. She was awarded the Valley Forge Medal of Honor for her work initialing this program. After over 55 years living in La Canada, Corinne moved to Cedar Hills, Utah where she passed away peacefully at the Charleston Assisted living home, in her sleep November 24. Services will be held at the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1830 Foothill Blvd ,La Canada, CA 91011, La Canada Building at 10:00 A.M. Corinne is survived by her 17 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
