10/21/32 to 12/11/10

Irene has passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. She faced this challenge, as well as numerous other health problems in her later years, with grace and dignity. It was a testimony to her abiding Catholic faith and the blessed assurance she had that Heaven’s door was open to her.

She is survived by daughter, Mary Elizabeth; sons, William and Robert, and a multitude of friends, many going back to her teenage years. She was born in Glendale. She called it her home throughout her lifetime. From kindergarten through four years of college, she was educated in Roman Catholic Schools. As a result of this training, and the great example of her parents, she was always faithful in her attendance at mass and adherence to the Church’s teachings.

She was a staunch supporter of the conservative brand of republicanism. Before devoting her fulltime to being a mother, she headed up the staff of her local congressman, serving in Washington DC for ten years. She later served for five years as his field representative in the District. Until the very end, she was up on the latest political scuttlebutt and brimming with optimism concerning the Republican prospects this fall.

The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 18th 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at Incarnation Catholic Church, Glendale. It will be followed by her interment at San Fernando Mission Cemetery. There will be a reception to celebrate Irene’s life following the services at her home located at 1245 Imperial Dr., Glendale, CA 91207.
