This week in traffic

Along the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway, several intermittent nighttime lane closures are slated for this week from Colorado to Burbank boulevards and from Buena Vista Street to Sheldon Street/Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

Up to four lanes could be closed from 1 to 4 a.m. along one stretch of the freeway from Colorado Boulevard to the Ventura (134) Freeway, according to the California Department of Transportation.

In Glendale, a major traffic signal improvement project was completed last week. Thirteen signals were upgraded along Glenoaks Boulevard from Harvey Drive to Western Avenue.

Concrete work, including new curbs and gutters, will continue at those intersections this week. No lane closures are expected.

In Burbank, a paving project on several neighborhood streets is scheduled to get underway this week after a short delay.

I-5 intermittent closures through Friday:

Up to three lanes of northbound I-5 from Colorado Blvd. to SR 134: 10 p.m. - 1 a.m., 5 - 6 a.m. Up to four lanes could be closed, 1 - 4 a.m.

Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 from SR 134 to Burbank Blvd.: 10 p.m.- 1 a.m., 5 - 6 a.m. Up to three lanes could be closed, 1 - 4 a.m.

Northbound I-5 connector to westbound SR 134: 11 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Southbound I-5 connector to eastbound SR 134: 11 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Westbound SR 134 connector to northbound I-5: 11 p.m. - 6 a.m.

Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 from Buena Vista St. to Sheldon St./Laurel Canyon Blvd.: 8 p.m. - 1 a.m., 4 a.m. - 10 a.m. Three lanes could be closed, 1 - 4 a.m.

Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 from Buena Vista St. to Penrose St.: 10 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from Buena Vista St. to Sheldon St./Laurel Canyon Blvd.: 8 p.m. - midnight and 4 - 6 a.m. Up to three lanes could be closed, 1 - 4 a.m.

Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from Hollywood Way to Penrose St.: 10 p.m. - 5 a.m. Up to three lanes could be closed, midnight - 6 a.m.

GLENDALE

A first layer of asphalt will be laid on both sides of San Fernando Road, from Chevy Chase Drive to Los Feliz Road. There will be lane closures, but one lane will always be open in each direction.

BURBANK

A paving project is scheduled to begin this week on the following streets:

N. Niagara St., from Chandler Blvd. to Clark Ave.

Rosemary Ln., from Clark Ave. to Verdugo Ave.

N. Catalina St., from Magnolia Blvd. to Clark Ave.

Florence St., from Burbank Blvd. to Chandler Blvd.

Florence St., from Magnolia Blvd. to Verdugo Ave.

N. Naomi St., from Magnolia Blvd. to Verdugo Ave.

N. Brighton St., from Chandler Blvd. to Magnolia Blvd.

The first phase will include grinding off some of the old asphalt.

Traffic will be blocked for a short time as the asphalt-removal equipment goes down the street.
