Area to cool slightly, then return to above-normal heat

Share

outhern California is in for a brief cool-down before heating back up to above normal by the weekend.

Temperatures will dip by a few degrees Wednesday, but climb back as a high-pressure system from the east warms the region to the mid-80s in downtown Los Angeles and near the triple digits in the valleys, according to forecasters with the National Weather Service.

Some desert and mountain areas could even see thunderstorms or light showers this weekend due to a monsoonal flow -- a moisture-packed system out of the southeast -- that is expected to circulate through the region. L.A. NOW
