Alleged burglar arrested, another at large
A19-year-old man is expected to be arraigned Friday on charges that he and another man allegedly broke into a home, stole what they could, then ran through several backyards and tried to dump bags containing jewelry, police said.

John Livingston was taken into custody just about 12:30 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of burglary after police found him running down a neighborhood street, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.
Police are still searching for the second man, who was identified as Brian Gonzalez.
The pair has family ties to Sunland and Tujunga, but they mostly reside in motels, Lorenz said. Police investigators said they were staying at the Glen Capri Inn on San Fernando Road in Glendale.
On Thursday, residents notified police about a possible burglary in the area of Sierra Vista and Arlington avenues because they had seen and heard two men running through their backyards, Lorenz said.
Police set up a perimeter in the 3400 block of Sierra Vista Drive to search for the men.
Two officers found and arrested Livingston. During their search for the second suspect, Lorenz said police discovered pry marks on a door They also found that a window screen had been removed from a home on the same block.
Police dogs found bags containing jewelry and burglary tools hidden in a backyard on the 3400 block of Las Palmas Avenue.
There have been 60 burglaries reported in Glendale so far this month, according to a Police Department crime database.
Most burglaries have occurred on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Investigators said Gonzalez and Livingston are known to carry backpacks and cruise residential neighborhoods in search of empty homes to burglarize.
The pair often pry a window or door open to enter unoccupied homes, Lorenz said.
Livingston is being held in the police department jail Thursday in lieu of $50,000 bond.
