Glendale renter flees ‘lovely Valium-loving octogenarian’ landlady

A renter who got fed with a “lovely Valium-loving octogenarian lady” and her converted garage in Glendale relayed the horror story to Curbed LA.

The take-it-or-leave-it approach by the landlord apparently didn’t go over so well, especially when a rain leak caused a mess in the living room and there was disagreement over how to fix it. That’s when the renter gathered the “mildewed belongings and fled.”

The story will be part of a nationwide competition among Curbed affiliates for the most horrific renter experience.
