Trader Joe’s will help Montrose Shopping Park

Share

Having been at the grand opening on Oct.28 (“Enthusiastic opening for Trader Joe’s in Montrose,” Oct. 29), I enjoyed reading the next day in the News-Press about all the preparations over the months that lead to the new Trader Joe’s.

Having a quality establishment like Trader Joe’s among the elite merchants of the Montrose Shopping Park will go a long way in increasing the marketability of the area, not only to the residents of Montrose, but to those in La Crescenta, La Cañada Flintridge and in other areas. I even bumped into some of my neighbors in beautiful Rancho San Rafael that wanted to come to Montrose, rather than go to the Glendale store.

The only shortfall in the grand opening was in the parking lot, which could have been better managed by having an attendant help manage the traffic flow in the lot.

This grand opening is the jolt that was needed to get more foot traffic that will certainly aid in increasing sales among all of the Montrose merchants. With the success of Trader Joe’s, let’s take a second look at having Starbucks join the merchants here in the Montrose Shopping Park.
