An apartment sustained $150,000 in damages Sunday when a fire swept through a Maple Street unit, officials said.

No one was injured in the incident, which started at 4:16 p.m. on the second floor of an apartment building on the 900 block of East Maple Street, said Glendale Fire Battalion Chief Greg Godfrey.

Thirty-two firefighters responded to the blaze after witnesses saw plumes of smoke and flames from the apartment, he said. Firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading to other units.

Damage to the apartment was estimated to cost about $120,000 while destruction to its contents was $30,000, Godfrey said.
