Glendale is ignoring the common folk

Share

Hmmm…let me get this right. The city of Glendale is cutting services to its citizens, asking city employees to take pay cuts and contribute more to the pensions, but they are essentially giving away a prime piece of downtown property valued at $2.5 million to bring in a new theater (“More choices for Glendale movie-goers,” Dec. 6)?

Oh yeah, I forgot, it will attract residents with more cultured tastes to patronize local business. I guess common-folk taste ain’t good enough and we ain’t got the money to buy tickets. Maybe they will offer free shows to us common folk.
