Skateboard shop displays LCHS art students' decks

Art students from La Cañada High School are getting a chance to show their illustration and painting skills on some unlikely canvasses — skateboard decks. Billy’s Boardshop in Montrose is hosting an art exhibit of student-painted skateboards, with an opening reception at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2.

Tim Shephard, owner of Billy’s Boardshop, teamed up with parent support group Friends of Art to donate 50 skateboards for students to paint. The theme of the art show is “Small Town, Big City.”

Billy’s Boardshop is located at 2227 Honolulu Ave.
