Hospital names new chairman of the board

Verdugo Hills Hospital announced the appointment of Robert E. Develle as chairman of the hospital’s board of directors for a one-year term.

A Pasadena resident, Develle has served on the board since 2005 and has also served as chairman of the strategic planning committee.

“One of the things I learned as a member of the board is to think much broader when defining community,” he said in a statement. “Our service area extends as far as Tujunga and Sunland, and often we don’t think of how vast an area we serve.”

Develle is a facilities division manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. He is responsible for various aspects of facilities management, including major capital improvement projects, minor construction projects, and operations and maintenance activities.

He previously served as manager of the electrical engineering department at Jacobs Engineering Co., an international engineering and construction services provider. Before that, he was vice president of engineering at Walt Disney Imagineering.

Develle has a master’s degree from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Tulane University in New Orleans. He and his wife Wynn have two adult children.
