Kathryn Elizabeth Connus passed away at the age of 86 in September 2011, following the death of her husband, Thomas Connus in June. He was 93. Tom, the son of Greek immigrants, met Kay Martin when she was only 16 while he was working at his father’s restaurant in Philadelphia. World War II intervened; Tom served as a cook overseas. In 1945, he returned and they were married one year later. Their marriage was to last 65 years and eventually brought them to California in 1985, to be with children and grandchildren. Tom and Kay are survived by their 3 children; daughter, Kathy and husband Bo Jennings; son, Tom Connus; daughter, Pat Connus; 3 grandchildren, Nick, Liz and Peter Coro and many nieces and nephews. Kay used her considerable accounting skills as a bank teller and Tom was a happy letter carrier. Kay, assisted by Tom, gave many years of volunteer service to the Glendale Alliance for the Mentally Ill. She will be remembered for her tireless contribution to that organization and for a lifetime of devotion to her family. Tom and Kay will be forever beloved and their memory treasured for the beauty and grace with which they touched our lives.

A Memorial Mass will be held for Kay Connus on Saturday, February 25th at 10:00AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montrose.
