Temperatures to hit triple digits in tri-city region through Saturday

The good news: The hot weather will begin to ease a little Sunday and especially Monday.

The bad news: It’s going to be super hot Friday and Saturday, and the cooling trend that begins after that is purely relative.

“It’s going to be above normal for a while,” said Stuart Seto, a weather specialist for the National Weather Service in Oxnard told the L.A. Times. “It’s just the hottest days are Friday and Saturday.”

On Friday, meteorologists expect the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena region to hit triple-digit temperatures, which could reach 106 degrees on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

On Sunday, the temperatures will dip by a couple of degrees. And on Monday and Tuesday, temperatures should drop back into the mid-80s.

This September has been warmer than normal. The average temperature for downtown L.A. for this month is 83 degrees, Seto said. Pasadena, which is enduring triple-digit heat, normally has temperatures around 89.
