A 48-year-old Glendale woman on Sunday reported her purse as being stolen by a man who crouched as he approached her on Magnolia Avenue, police said.

The woman had just exited a bus about 7:41 p.m. and was walking home on Magnolia Avenue near Central Avenue when a man began walking toward her, according to Glendale Police Department reports.

As the two neared, he crouched and grabbed the bottom of her purse and pulled it away, remaining silent the entire time, police said.

After a brief scuffle, he was eventually able to take it and run away, police said.

The woman was not injured during the incident.

She described the man as Latino, 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build, thin mustache and long brown hair. He had dirty hands and was wearing a dark-blue hooded sweat shirt and dark pants.
