Glendale DUI checkpoint results in arrests

Six motorists were arrested Saturday night during a sobriety checkpoint in South Glendale, police said.

Of the six motorists arrested, five were for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs, according to Glendale police. The sixth arrest was on suspicion of drunk driving.

More than 1,600 vehicles drove through the checkpoint at Los Feliz Road and Gardena Avenue.

Police screened 73 vehicles and directed 26 field sobriety tests on motorists.

Officers made additional arrests in connection with narcotics use, outstanding warrants and driver’s license violations, police said.
