Police respond to two unrelated burglaries in Glendale
Glendale police arrested four suspects allegedly connected to two separate burglaries, at a church and a home, Friday night and early Saturday morning.
After the first burglary around 9:30 p.m. Friday, police captured two people who fled from a northeast Glendale home, leaving a trail of jewelry behind, said Glendale Police Sgt. Javier Ruiz. Police caught the burglars after a helicopter and canine unit surrounded the targeted house at 1221 Ethel St.
Four hours later, at about 1:38 a.m., police responded to another burglary, this time at a church.
Rather than snatching jewelry, the burglars apparently tried to steal a large piece of music mixing equipment from the Carlson Fellowship Center at the First United Methodist Church near the city center, Ruiz sad. Police caught one burglar fleeing from the church at 130 N. Kenwood St. and the other hiding in the kitchen. The thieves smashed a window to enter the church and police discovered blood near the broken glass, Ruiz said.
“They cut themselves trying to get in,” he said.
The identities of the suspects were not immediately available.
