A 33-year-old homeless man was arrested Friday hours after police sought the public’s help in finding him in connection with allegedly sexually harassing a 17-year-old girl.

Adam Cartwright was spotted riding a bicycle about 4:25 p.m. at Carr Park in the 1600 block of East Colorado Street, where officers immediately took him into custody, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz.

Earlier that day, an arrest warrant was issued for Cartwright, who faces child annoyance charges in connection with the Aug. 28 incident.

The Glendale teen reportedly told officers she feared Cartwright was going to kidnap and rape her after he followed her as she walked home, according to police.

He allegedly tapped her shoulder, blocked her path and made sexual statements about wanting to take her and engage in sexual activities.

The girl ran into a local beauty store to get away from him, police said.
