Burbank resident Moises Diaz, 40, pleaded not guilty to one count of murder for the alleged killing of his mother, Maria Huezo Diaz, 77, whose body was found wrapped in blankets next to a dumpster at 4000 W. Victory Blvd. in Burbank on Monday.
- Three Burbank men pleaded not guilty to charges that they were involved in the stabbing of two fishermen at the Santa Monica Pier, authorities said.
- Foothill Municipal Water District officials are alerting customers to limit water consumption following Gov. Jerry Brown’s drought emergency announcement last week. Customers are encouraged to take shorter showers, run only full loads of dishes and laundry, sweep paved surfaces instead of hosing them, limit water time to before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. for 10 minutes and fix leaks within 48 hours.
- A Studio City man was arrested by federal agents Thursday, charged with hacking hundreds of personal email accounts, stealing nude photos of the victims and then selling the images to a so-called “revenge porn” website.
- Glendale police plan to clampdown on drugged and drunk driving Friday night after netting two arrests for driving under the influence last weekend.
