818 Roundup: Explosives found in Burbank home, CHP driving advisories

Two explosive devices were found in a Burbank home during a search by Burbank police detectives late afternoon on Friday. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad was called to the home on the 1900 block of North Rose Street and safely detonated both devices, according to a press release from the Burbank police department.
As rain continues, the California Highway Patrol cautioned drivers to watch their speed and drive in the center lanes on freeways to avoid hydroplaning.
A second workshop on a study about possible new ways to better link the area around the Bob Hope to various public transit options will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the city of Burbank Community Services Building.
