Power outage caused by Mylar balloon in west Glendale
A power outage in west Glendale left 744 customers without electricity on Thursday afternoon.
The outage, which occurred at 2:04 pm., was the result of a downed line from a gold Mylar balloon, Glendale Water and Power officials reported.
Power was restored to fully restored by 3 p.m.
Balloons were the top known cause of outages in Glendale between 2008 and 2012, causing 47 out of 292 outages in that time, according to a city report released in January.
