Crescenta Valley Briefs: Taste of Montrose, Wags ‘n Whiskers, free seminar on being an estate trustee

The 12th annual Wags ‘n Whiskers/Kids ‘n Kritters Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday in the 2200 and 2300 blocks of Honolulu Avenue in Montrose. There will be a petting zoo featuring an educational hands-on show presented at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. as well as 12:30 p.m.

A Wags ‘n Whiskers Walk benefiting the Glendale Humane Society will kick off at 10 a.m. from Andersen’s Pet Shop, 2218 Honolulu Ave. Registration will be at 9 a.m. The event is co-sponsored by the Montrose Shopping Park Assn. and will take place during the weekly Montrose Harvest Marketplace.

A Taste of Montrose will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Montrose Shopping Park. The event will give attendees a chance to try menu offerings from several local restaurants for a $20 ticket.

Participating eateries will include Zeke’s, New Moon, 9021Pho, Frank’s Famous Kitchen and Bakery and Baked on Oceanview. All proceeds from the event will go toward benefiting Prom Plus, a post-prom event to be held at the Crescenta Cañada YMCA for Crescenta Valley High School seniors and their guests.

The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce will host a joint mixer with the Montrose Verdugo Chamber of Commerce from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at J’s Maintenance, 3550 Foothill Blvd., Glendale.

A prayer breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday at First Baptist Church at La Crescenta, 4441 La Crescenta Ave.

The keynote speaker will be Roger Kamstra, an associate pastor at Church of the Nations in Glendale. A suggested donation for adults is $10, while students can get in for free.
