Glendale Police need civilian oversight

Share

The community desperately needs independent civilian oversight and a review of policies, programs and actions pertaining to the Glendale Police Department.

This is a much overdue commission whose actions must involve community review of the police.

The City Council should authorize complete independence with meaningful input and decision-making power to implement policies that influence our communities.

The chief of police must answer to this body that will review any and all programs, policing activities and policies with transparency and accountability to avoid unnecessary lawsuits, litigation or injuries arising from any mismanagement.

The Glendale Police citizen’s commission must set the moral compass for a just and proper force to police the citizens of this city within the provisions of the city charter and the rules of law above everything else.
