DePompa setting the leadership bar too low

Share

An honorable leader leads by example. Police Chief Ron De Pompa could have offered to work pro-bono or at a nominal rate. He could have sent a huge message to all his subordinates that working the system is not acceptable and is immoral.

It does put into perspective the actions of George Washington to remain in office for only two terms.

To relinquish power was a historic act that set a high bar for every leader of our country since. But for a long time, we’ve set the bar so low for our leaders — don’t milk the system — that even that concept falls on deaf ears. Thank you, Chief, for letting us understand where city deficits come from. Thank you for explaining the inference of what a police endorsement really means.
