Letter: A Christmas tree is not a holiday tree

Share

When is the traditional Christmas tree incorrectly called a “holiday tree”? The city of Glendale did it this Christmas at its annual tree-lighting event on Dec. 4. I would like to ask the city why it is afraid to acknowledge the word “Christmas” since it has always been the correct and proper definition of such a tree at Christmastime?

The city seems to think that if the tree’s title is changed, then no one will be offended. Hey, you forgot about your Christian residents, large in number.
