818 Roundup: Two cars swerve off Angeles Crest Highway, Glendale furniture fires, Arturo Sandoval

We’re rounding up the headlines in the region:
- Two cars swerved off the Angeles Crest Highway in two separate incidents this weekend. On Friday night, a car careened about 150 feet off the side of the Highway, with minor injuries reported by the driver and two passengers. On Saturday morning, a second car was reported to have swerved about 30 feet over the side of the connector from the 210 east to the Angeles Crest Highway.
- A couch and mattress on sidewalks on two different streets in Glendale were set on fire seven minutes apart early Saturday, according to the Glendale Police Department.
Classical musician and composer Arturo Sandoval, who discovered his love for music as a boy growing up in Cuba, will share his talent at the Alex Theatre later this month in a concert aimed to cultivate music education in today’s youth.
- As Glendale school officials continue to review a plan to offer the district’s popular dual-language immersion classes through the 12th grade, the district announced this week which high schools would offer the foreign-language courses.
