Letter: Fed up with loud, late-night parties

Someone please explain to me why some homeowners think that their loud party music and general cacophony will be enjoyed by neighbors far into the night. Last Friday night, even with all the windows shut tight, it was earplug time until after 2 a.m. This sort of callous disregard for others is beyond my comprehension.
