Letter: Rockhaven wasn’t saved for developers

I read in amazement the article about our beloved Rockhaven Sanitarium being put up for consideration by the Glendale City Council for development other than to be used as a library and community center, which we were promised when the property was purchased some six years ago. Is the City of Glendale really that strung up and in need of cash that it might even consider turning the historic property into “affordable housing” as Commissioner Ara Kalfayan proposes? This is truly misguided and shameful, not to mention a slap in the face of all of us who cheered the purchase of the property when it seemed destined for the wrecking ball.
