Knights roll behind Verso hat trick

St. Francis 4, Alemany 0: Mark Verso had a hat trick within the 30 minutes of play for the Golden Knights and Billy McCreary capped the scoring in the first half with a goal of his own in a Mission League road contest on Friday.
Goalkeepers Carl Rubschlager and Hector Carranza combined on the shutout for St. Francis (11-8, 7-2 in league).
Glendale 1, Burbank 0: Levon Sargsyan scored with 15 minutes left to give the host Nitros (8-0-7, 5-0-5) a Pacific League win Friday.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 1, Alemany 0: Lauren Torres scored on a 45-yard direct kick to lead the Tologs to a Mission League win at Occidental College on Friday.
Sami Dier posted her second straight shutout in goal for Sacred Heart (14-1-1, 6-1-1).
L.A. Sacred Heart of Jesus 5, Holy Family 0: The host Gaels (0-8-1, 0-5) fell Friday in an Horizon League match at Rio de L.A. Park.

Glendale 37, Arcadia 33: Keasha Luna led the Nitros (12-10, 4-6) with 12 points in a Pacific League road win on Friday, while Serah Mirzaeian added 11 points.
Muir 81, Hoover 26: Sharis Rostamian collected eight points and Liya Abnusi added six on Friday for the Tornadoes (2-16, 0-10) in a Pacific League home game.
Holy Family 49, L.A. Sacred Heart of Jesus 35: Jennifer Rodriguez scored 16 points to lead the Gaels to a Horizon League win on the road Friday. Clarizza Morino scored 15 points for Holy Family (6-11, 4-2).
Rio Hondo Prep 63, Flintridge Prep 53: Maya Okamoto finished with 16 points and Katherine Bogaard added 11 for the visiting Rebels (5-13, 2-5) in a Prep League contest on Friday.

David Yetenikyan had 11 points and 16 rebounds and Linden Anderson added 13 points for Glendale (10-12, 5-5).
Muir 75, Hoover 42: Kyle Bernardo led the Tornadoes (5-16, 1-9) with 14 points in a Pacific League loss at home on Friday night.
Alemany 58, St. Francis 47: Emerson Castaneda led the Golden Knights (9-14, 1-8) with 15 points in a Mission League road loss Friday.

Crescenta Valley 19, Alemany 2: The Falcons concluded the first round of pool play in the Oxnard Tournament on Friday with a win over the Warriors, in which Rachel Krebsbach and Shannon Hovhanessian scored three goals each.
Earlier Friday, Crescenta Valley (19-2) beat Moorpark, 12-5, behind three goals from Kim Fraisse.
