GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Westridge 60, Flintridge Prep 52: Maya Okamoto collected 24 points and Katherine Bogaard added 12 on Thursday for the visiting Rebels in a Prep League contest.

The Rebels (7-15, 4-7 in league) had an opportunity to wrap up an automatic playoff spot with a win Thursday. Instead, the Rebels must now beat visiting Webb in a league game today and hope for Westridge (5-6 in league) to lose at Chadwick today.

If Flintridge Prep wins and Westridge loses, the teams will finish tied for fourth place and a coin flip will determine who gets the automatic playoff berth. If Flintridge Prep loses and Westridge wins, then Westridge would be the fourth-place finisher.

Kristin Shum finished with nine points and 11 rebounds for Flintridge Prep.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 60, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 53: Vanessa Romero finished with 16 points Thursday to spark the host Tologs in a Mission League contest. Lana Haddad added 11 points and 13 rebounds for Flintridge Sacred Heart, which finished the regular season 15-11, 4-6 in league for fourth place.

Dana Budzyn added nine points and seven assists for the Tologs, who will petition for an at-large playoff spot.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Flintridge Prep 3, Westridge 0: The Prep League-champion Rebels got one goal apiece from Brooke Elby, Connell Studenmund and Samantha Davies on Thursday to pick up a league home victory and close out their regular season in style.

Casey Cousineau needed to make just two saves in the shutout.

Flintridge Prep improved to 16-3-2, 8-1-1.

Buckley 6, Glendale Adventist Academy 0: The host Cougars fell Thursday in a Liberty League match at the Glendale Sports Complex. Glendale Adventist dropped to 2-8-1 in league.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

Glendale Community College 12, L.A. Harbor College 3: David Park finished with three hits Thursday to spark the Vaqueros in a Western State Tournament contest at Stengel Field.

Chris Stroh drove in a pair of runs for Glendale college (4-1).

MEN’S TENNIS

Cypress College 6, Glendale Community College 3: The host Vaqueros (1-4) picked up three wins in singles during a nonconference match Thursday.

Alex Sarkissian posted a 6-2, 6-4 victory for the Vaqueros, who got a 3-6, 6-3, 10-3 win from Trevor Campbell and a 1-6, 7-5, 10-8 win from Stephan Mamann.
