BOYS’ TENNIS

Hoover 14, San Gabriel 4: The Tornadoes’ singles lineup of Oleg Simonian, Ejmin Mehranian and Emile Ohanian swept to lead the way to a nonleague home win Wednesday.

Hoover improved to 3-1 on the season.

South Pasadena 11, Crescenta Valley 7: The doubles team of Ken Chong and Justin Chung swept for the Falcons (0-4) in a nonleague home loss Wednesday.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Crescenta Valley 3, San Marino 1: The Falcons beat the visiting Titans, 26-28, 25-23, 25-23, 25-16, on Wednesday to improve to 4-5.

Temple City 3, Flintridge Prep 0: Nolan Jimbo led the Rebels (2-5) with nine kills in a 25-13, 26-24, 25-14 nonleague home loss Wednesday.

Jordy Manker added seven kills for Prep, which received 21 assists from Mike Lee.

BOYS’ GOLF

Azusa 228, Flintridge Prep 232: Justin Farshidi and Will Guthrie carded eight-over-par 42’s on Wednesday for the Rebels in a nonleague match at Azusa Green Golf Course.

The Rebels (0-7) competed without top player Jack Bouchard, who was ill.

BOYS’ SWIMMING

Crescenta Valley 91, Valencia 81: The visiting Falcons received first-place efforts from Louis Wojciechowski in the 200-yard freestyle in 1 minute 42.30 seconds and 100 butterfly (52.08) in a nonleague road meet. Harrison Thai of the Falcons won the 200 individual medley (1:56.13) and 100 backstroke (54.07).

GIRLS’ SWIMMING

Valencia 102, Crescenta Valley 60: Adrienne Ingalla won the 50-yard freestyle on Wednesday for the visiting Falcons in a nonleague meet.

MEN’S TENNNIS

Ventura College 6, Glendale Community College 3: The visiting Vaqueros received two singles wins Tuesday in a Western State Conference match. Alex Sarkissian picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win and Grayson Frazier earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory for the Vaqueros. Sarkissian worked with Trevor Campbell for an 8-4 doubles victory for Glendale (6-5, 3-1 in conference).
