Falcons sweep dual meet

BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD

Crescenta Valley 95 Pasadena 41: Bob Anderson and Josh Straschewski each won a pair of events Thursday to spark the visiting Falcons in a Pacific League dual meet.

Anderson captured the 1,600-meter race in four minutes 38 seconds and the 3,200 (10:10). Straschewski took first in the 110 hurdles (15.3 seconds) and 300 hurdles (41.9).

Other first-place winners for Crescenta Valley (2-0 in league) included Mike Duncan in the 800 (2:09) and Parker Averill in the 200 (22.5). Crescenta Valley’s 4x400 relay team of Straschewski, Dylan Devens, Adam Akopyan and Duncan won in 3:36.

GIRLS’ TRACK AND FIELD

Crescenta Valley 117, Pasadena 19: The visiting Falcons (2-0 in the Pacific League) received eight first-place individual efforts in a league dual meet Thursday.

Anneke Kakebeen won the 1,600-meter race in 5 minutes 39.7 seconds for the Falcons, who also saw Cali King win the 400 in 62.5 seconds. Jessica Beerman won the 100 in 12.5 and Diane Lombardi took the 800 (2:45).

Claudia Sepulveda captured the 300 hurdles in 49.9 and Tiernan Hebron won the 200 (26.8) for Crescenta Valley, which got a first-place effort from Claudia Pham in the 3,200 (12:35) and Maple Jones in the triple jump at 30 feet 3 inches.

The Falcons’ 4x100 relay team of Kayleigh Carrillo, Noel Wong, Sepulveda and Beerman finished first in 50.5 and the 4x400 relay team of Carrillo, King, Heather Robertson and Hebron won in 4:14.
