Vaqueros vault to conference win

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Glendale Community College 6, Allan Hancock 3: Glendale High graduates Sevana Zargarian and Samantha Sismundo won a doubles set, 8-3, and were two of five Vaqueros to sweep their singles sets in a Western State Conference match Tuesday.

Sindi Concebida, Phoebe Minette and Mayra Alvarez also won singles sets for the Vaqueros, who improved to 4-9 and 2-7 in conference.

BOYS’ GOLF

La Salle 218, Flintridge Prep 223, Cathedral 238: The Rebels split in a nonleague tri-match Tuesday afternoon at the par-34 La Cañada Country Club.

Jack Bouchard led the Rebels (4-10) with a three-over-par 37.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Crespi 3, St. Francis 1: The Golden Knights dropped a Mission League road match on Tuesday night to the Celts, 23-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-21.

St. Francis (5-5, 1-5 in league) got 45 assists from Chris Thompson, 18 kills from Michael Bacall, 14 kills from Wesley Coffey and 13 kills from Sean McCarthy.

Chadwick 3, Flintridge Prep 0: Kenyatta Smith had 12 kills and five blocks in the Rebels’ 25-12, 25-16, 25-21 loss to open Prep League play on Tuesday.

Prep (5-10) got six kills from Jared Norsworthy and 26 assists from Kieren Mulroy.
