GIRLS’ TENNIS

Crescenta Valley 17, Pasadena 1: Emily Borkowski didn’t lose a game in sweeping her three sets and helped spark visiting Crescenta Valley to a Pacific League road win Tuesday. The Falcons improved to 4-1, 2-1 in league.

The Falcons picked up a 10-8 nonleague home win against Valencia on Monday.

Burroughs 13, Glendale 5: Glendale’s doubles team of Celicia McLean and Rochelle Lingat swept their three sets, 6-3, 6-1, 6-4, in a Pacific League road match Tuesday. Glendale (0-5, 0-3 in league) also received a 7-6 (7-5) singles win from Eugenia Bagdassarian and a 6-1 win from Arpy Zargarian.

On Monday, Glendale suffered a 14-4 nonleague home loss against Hart. The Nitros received a 7-6 (7-3) singles victory from Emily Levin. Glendale also got a singles win from Bagdassarian (6-4) and doubles victories from McLean and Lingat (6-1) and Amanda Lieu and Rouzana Hakobyan (6-4).

West Ranch 17, Hoover 1: The host Tornadoes (2-3) fell in a nonleague match Tuesday. Kiso Adzhemyan and Diana Karapetyan teamed up for a 6-3 victory for Hoover.

CROSS-COUNTRY

Holy Family in Providence Invitational: The Gaels took third with 76 points in Tuesday’s event at Johnny Carson Park. Alejandra Hernandez of Holy Family took sixth in 20 minutes 21 seconds. Teammate Gaby Diaz was eighth in 20:28.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Long Beach City College 3, Glendale Community College 2: The Vaqueros fell, 16-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 15-9, in a San Diego Mesa Tournament match Saturday. Glendale dropped to 3-6.

In an earlier tournament match Saturday, Glendale suffered a 25-15, 25-16, 28-26 loss against El Camino Community College.

On Friday, the Vaqueros won a pair of tournament matches. They opened with a 25-17, 25-23, 25-15 win against Cerritos before posting a 25-20, 19-25, 25-12, 25-22 victory against Antelope Valley, as Cami Martin led Glendale with 17 kills and six blocks. Laila Souktani had 40 assists and three aces.

MEN’S SOCCER

Santiago Canyon 2, Glendale Community College 1: The Vaqueros (1-3-1) capped the week Friday with a 2-1 nonconference defeat. They began the week of Sept. 13 with a 2-2 nonconference deadlock against Fullerton College.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Cuesta College 5, Glendale Community College 3: Glendale college (1-5) finished the week Saturday with a 5-3 nonconference loss. It started the week of Sept. 13 with a 1-0 nonconference loss against Rio Hondo before falling, 5-0, in a nonconference match against Allan Hancock on Friday.
