All-Area Girls' Basketball Second Team

Bea Benedicto, Junior, Forward, Providence

Liberty League co-Player of the Year and All-CIF Southern Section Division V-AA second-team selection averaged 11.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest in leading Pioneers to semifinals of Division V-AA playoffs before reaching quarterfinals of Division V state tournament.

Courtney Chen, Sophomore, guard, La Cañada

Averaged 15.3 points, 4.1 steals and 3.6 assists per game en route to being named to All-Rio Hondo League and All-CIF Southern Section Division III-A first teams. Was a catalyst for the Spartans' run to second place in league and the Division III-A quarterfinals.

Shaela Flynn, Senior, Guard, Muir

All-Pacific League first-team honoree averaged 12.8 points and 1.8 steals per game in helping Mustangs win another league title and advance to CIF Southern Section Division IV-AA quarterfinals.

Lana Haddad, Senior, Center, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy

Overlooked post player averaged 13.4 points, nine rebounds and two steals per game for Tologs, who made appearance in Division IV-AA playoffs after earning an at-large berth from Mission League.

Kandyce Smith, Sophomore, Guard, La Salle

Named to All-Del Rey League and All-CIF Southern Section Division IV-A first teams after averaging 12.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.6 steals per contest, as she led the Lancers to the playoff quarterfinals.
